English colonists where the first to build these steep gabled homes, mimicking their homes back in England. Through the years, they were re-styled to weather the stormy Nor’Eastern weather – little pun intended 
. This is how those famous shutters and the steep pitched roof became a large part of the Cape Cod style home.

Nice look. I like the use of the transom window over the door and the extra skylight up top. They both add character to the shed.
