You’ve put so much effort into selecting the style and size of your shed – but have you really finished off the look you were aiming for? While you’ve carefully selected colors for your siding and trim, and spent endless hours trying to figure out which shingles match the ones on your home the best, you’ve probably overlooked the crowning glory – a cupola and weathervane to truly personalize your Fox’s Country Sheds backyard structure.
Pictured here is an upgraded “Ellsworth” cupola with what looks like a copper top. Actually, the top of the cupola in this photo is made out of aluminum in the color “Coppertone”. Aluminum tops are also available in black, brown, blue, green, red – which can really add a dramatic focal point and change the look of any backyard garden shed with minimal cost. Most cupola styles now come in a maintenance-free vinyl material so that it will never rot while exposed to the elements. Who wants to climb to the top of the shed roof to make repairs to a cupola! Not us, that’s for sure!
Adding the finishing touch on this Ellsworth Cupola is a copper Victorian Arrow weathervane. This weathervane is slowly going through it’s patina color change. While it was a shiny copper color just months ago, it is aging to an antiqued bronze color before it changes to the final and lovely verdigris green color. It will truly make this garden shed look like it has been in place for years with it’s antiqued chameleon color changes.
If you prefer to not have your copper weathervane age through the verdigris process, you can opt to have it sealed with a clear coat of Stay-Brite copper sealer.
Or, you can opt for one of the many, many styles of weathervanes that are powdercoated and painted with weatherproof enamels for an everlasting finish.
Whatever your style, if you have put so much effort into the look and design of your Fox’s Country Sheds garden shed, be sure to finalize your decision with its crowning glory.
